1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to personal information that Calling Moonshots ("Calling Moonshots", "we", "us", "our") collects when you use our websites, including callingmoonshots.com, our mobile and desktop applications, our APIs, and our subscription and software services (collectively, the "Services"), or when you otherwise interact with us.

This Policy applies to personal information we control as a "controller" (or "business" under the California Consumer Privacy Act). When we process personal information on behalf of a customer that uses our Services to handle data of its own end users, we act as a "processor" (or "service provider") under that customer's instructions, and the customer's privacy notice — not this Policy — generally governs that processing.

2. Information We Collect

a. Information you provide

b. Information collected automatically

c. Information from third parties

We do not knowingly collect special categories of personal data — including racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade-union membership, genetic data, biometric data for unique identification, health data, or data concerning sex life or sexual orientation — and we ask that you do not submit such information through the Services.

3. How We Use Information

We use personal information to:

4. Legal Bases (EEA / UK Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with similar requirements, we process personal information on these legal bases under the GDPR / UK GDPR:

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only as described below:

Service providers / processors

Vendors that perform services on our behalf, under written contract and limited to what is necessary, including:

Distribution channels

Apple, Google, and similar platforms receive transaction data necessary to fulfill purchases and subscriptions made on their channels.

Business transfers

If Calling Moonshots is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of its assets, personal information may be transferred subject to standard confidentiality protections, and the successor will be bound by terms no less protective than this Policy.

Legal & safety

We may disclose information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to (a) comply with a law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or other legal process; (b) enforce our agreements or policies; (c) investigate fraud, abuse, or violations; or (d) protect the rights, property, or safety of our users, employees, or the public.

With your consent

To any other party you direct.

6. Distribution Channels (Apple, Google)

If you obtained the Services through the Apple App Store or Google Play, the platform processes your purchase and subscription billing. Calling Moonshots receives a non-payment-card subscription identifier and status from the platform; we do not receive your full payment-card number. The platform's privacy policy governs its handling of your data on its side. See Apple Privacy and Google Privacy.

7. International Data Transfers

We are based in the United States and may process personal information in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. Where personal information is transferred from the EEA, the UK, Switzerland, or another jurisdiction with applicable transfer rules, we rely on lawful transfer mechanisms — including the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, and applicable adequacy decisions — to provide appropriate safeguards.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations (including tax, accounting, and fraud-prevention obligations), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Specific retention periods depend on the type and sensitivity of the data, the purposes for which we process it, and any legal-retention requirements. Backup copies may persist for a limited period after deletion. When personal information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.

9. Security

We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction, including:

No security measure is perfect. You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

10. Cookies & Similar Technologies

We use:

You can control cookies through your browser; blocking strictly-necessary cookies will impair the Services. Where applicable, we honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as an opt-out under the CCPA / CPRA and similar laws.

11. Marketing Communications

We may send you product updates, newsletters, or other marketing communications where permitted by law or where you have consented. You can opt out at any time by clicking "unsubscribe" in any marketing email or by emailing privacy@callingmoonshots.com. Opting out of marketing does not stop transactional, security, or service messages.

12. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the following rights with respect to your personal information:

To exercise any right, email privacy@callingmoonshots.com from the email address associated with your account. We will verify your identity before responding. You may use an authorized agent, with proof of authorization. We respond within the timeframes required by applicable law (generally within 30 days, extendable as permitted).

13. California & Other U.S. State Rights

California (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

Categories of personal information collected in the past 12 months (CCPA categories): identifiers, customer-account records, commercial information (transactions, subscriptions), internet/network activity, geolocation (approximate, from IP), and inferences drawn from the foregoing.

Sources: directly from you, automatically when you use the Services, and from service providers and distribution channels.

Purposes: as described in Section 3.

Disclosed to: the categories of recipients in Section 5.

To exercise California rights, email privacy@callingmoonshots.com. We will verify your request by matching the email and account information you provide with our records. We will not retaliate for exercising any right.

Other U.S. states (Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, etc.)

Residents of covered states have analogous rights of access, correction, deletion, portability, and opt-out of targeted advertising, sale, and certain profiling. To exercise these rights, email privacy@callingmoonshots.com. If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our denial; we will respond to the appeal within the timeframe required by law.

14. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA / UK). If we learn that we have collected such information without verified parental or guardian consent, we will delete it. Parents or guardians who believe a child has provided personal information should contact privacy@callingmoonshots.com.

15. Automated Decision-Making

We do not use solely-automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects on users. Some operations (e.g., fraud-detection scoring) may involve automation, but a human review is available where required by law.

16. Third-Party Links

The Services may contain links to third-party websites, services, or applications. This Policy does not apply to those services. Review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.

17. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide notice — for example, by email to the address on file or by an in-product notice — at least 30 days before the changes take effect, except where shorter notice is required by law. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
